Ricardo Roybal grew up in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of New Mexico. In law school, he was elected to the editorial board of the New Mexico Law Review and wrote an article that the NMLR selected to publish. He was also recognized for his performance as part of the clinical law program as he earned the Jerrold L. Walden Memorial Award for Social Justice.

Mr. Roybal worked as a law clerk for the Narvaez Law Firm for almost two years before joining as a licensed attorney. During this time, he handled a case involving a deficiency balance due to a creditor, from its inception to its client-friendly dismissal. He also performed extensive legal research, participated in complex discovery matters, drafted motions, briefs, and client correspondences, all of which encompassing and attributing to claims arising under the New Mexico Whistleblower Protection Act, New Mexico Human Rights Act, New Mexico Tort Claims Act, as well as various Section 1983 civil rights claims.

Mr. Roybal brings persistence and sound judgment to the general litigation practice and areas of insurance defense, employment law, and civil rights defense.
